Since its inception, the House Walk has embodied the best of history and architecture. Three of the many architectural gems featured this year are: A stunning 1899 Myron Hunt home; a magnificent home that was originally built as a coach house in 1892 and converted to a single family home in 1962, and a fabulous 1894 25-room house modeled on Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's home in Cambridge, MA. The Walk includes interior viewing of all the houses. The new exhibit "A Curious Patchwork of Evanston Treasures," will feature a diverse collection of intriguing artifacts, textiles, costumes, documents and images that reflect American cultural history filtered through Evanston residents' experiences. Many of the homes on the House Walk will relate to the exhibit. (You will have to attend the Walk to see how!) Your support of the House Walk benefits EHC programs and our ongoing work preserving Evanston's history. House Walk tickets are $30 for members, $35 for non-members (advance purchase) or $35 members, $40 non-members on the day of the event. Tickets for the Exhibit's opening preview and reception on Friday, May 6 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. are $20. You can purchase House Walk tickets and tickets to the opening reception on our website atwww.evanstonhistorycenter.org. You will also be able to renew your membership and make donations all year long. Happy Spring and please join us!
