A new point of interest for Southeast Evanston residents is the City's search for volunteers to serve as "stakeholders" for Evanston Plan2030 (the City's next Strategic Planning Vision). This Stakeholder Group is intended for concerned citizens who would like to be actively involved in the plan but cannot be involved in the "Working Group." Members of the Stakeholder Group would be invited to attend all community workshops, and provide comment and feedback on all drafts of the plan. To volunteer, fill out an online application by going to http://www.cityofevanston.org/resident/volunteer. The link to the application is under the listed City volunteer opportunities. |

The Zoning Committee of the Evanston Plan Commission continues to finalize wording on the Map and Text Amendments for the City's new Downtown Plan. The most recent discussions confirmed wording that gives both the Plan Commission and the City Council the discretion to reject a developer's application, even if it met the specified requirements for public benefits. While the Commission has not taken a final vote on the Amendments, we anticipate that this will happen in April or May. The Amendments will then go to the City Council for a final vote on adoption into Evanston's City Code.
