The Southeast Evanston Association is governed by a Board of Directors of no more than 21 members who are nominated and then confirmed by our general membership. Directors are elected to staggered three-year terms, one-third elected each year. Officers are elected by the Board and serve one-year terms.

An Evanston resident since 1992, Anna joined SEA’s board in 2015. She followed SEA’s work in the last few years, and liked the way the organization worked to preserve public spaces throughout Evanston. As a board member, Anna hopes to help SEA alert to the problems and opportunities the board encounters to maintain Evanston’s wonderful community and setting. She wants to keep Evanston a welcoming place for all its people and the local plants and animals and to preserve good, ancient creations and also create new ones that fulfill our goals for the community.

Aparna Sarthy moved to Evanston In April of 2014. She was Introduced to SEA by a good friend, and joined the SEA Board in 2015. As a new resident, she was attracted to SEA as a chance to get to know more about Evanston and meet some new neighbors. Aparna loves the lake, especially since she lives5 minutes walking distance from it. Her key interests arein events that concern the environment and in keeping Evanston a beautiful green city.

Eudald Lerga moved to Evanston with his family in 2013. He recently joined the Board in 2016. He is interested in walkability and bikeability and hopes SEA can help make the neighborhood more livable.

Peter Demuth has lived in evanston for 18 years and has been involved with SEA for seven years now. He recently joined the Board in 2014 after being nominated for the position by his wife. He hopes that SEA can represent the overall interests of the people who live in southeast Evanston. His favorite thing about Evanston is the lakefront.
Marsha Niazmand moved to Evanston with her husband in 1987. Niazmand has been on and off the Board over at least twenty years. She got involved when an estate petitioned to subdivide the large house where Katie Stallcup now lives into six land parcels! She enjoys learning what's new in Evanston at the meetings, and hopes that SEA contributes to more community involvement in decisions.

Ted Glasoe has lived in Evanston 20 years and been involved with SEA for about 15 years. Lake Michigan is his favorite part of Evanston – he says without the lake, Evanston is just Oak Park. Glasoe would like SEA to get a large membership base, saying that the work SEA does is important and effective.

Katie Stallcup moved to Evanston with her family in 1991 and has been involved with SEA for several years, serving off-and-on for the Board during the past 20 years. She got involved with SEA due to her interest in historic preservation. She’d like to see more folks join SEA, and for SEA to maintain its reputation for keeping folks informed about what’s going on in the neighborhood and city.
Diane has lived in Evanston 23 years and counting, with no plans of leaving! Her favorite thing about Evanston is Northwestern University: she was privileged to sing in NU Chorus 1997-2012 which was a fantastic experience. And she enjoys many other things that NU has to offer. Diane has been a member of SEA since 2006, attending annual meetings when possible and is an ardent supporter of SEA's mission to protect and enhance our quality of life. She joined the Board in Fall 2015. She started her involvement with SEA when she worked with neighbors to provide citizen input to The City of Evanston during the planning and construction of The Mather. The level of citizen engagement in Evanston on a wide variety of topics is notable and fuels her love of our city. Her goals as a SEA Board member are to protect and care for our beautiful lakeside parks and to preserve the essentially residential character of Southeast Evanston.
